Descendants of Robert GWIN of Augusta Co, Virginia

This database addresses the descendants of Robert Gwin (the pioneer) who stayed in Bath/Augusta/Highland counties in VA, and the ones who moved to Wood county, WV, plus a few who went to Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana. This database does not deal (except briefly) with the Gwinn/Guinns who moved to Greenbrier co WV nor those who moved to KY.

My primary goal was to try to straighten out and correct the descendants of Joseph Gwin (son of Robert the pioneer), because the primary references (Cleek and Morton) seem to be very incomplete and incorrect concerning Joseph's branch of the family. I've tried to include source documentation for most events, but probably have not totally succeeded, although documenting sources is a high priority for me.

This is VERY MUCH a work-in-progress. Please contact me if you have any corrections or additional data to contribute to this untangling effort.
